Christina Quel, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Quel is a rarity — a native Southern Californian. She grew up in Venice, California, where she acquired a love of animals very early. It was at the age of six, and came about through a yellow lab named Goldie, her “first dog and best friend.” Goldie, she says, “made me realize just how wonderful animals are. No matter what, they give us unconditional love.”

It was almost ordained that Dr. Quel would enter the field of medicine, as several family members are doctors. Because of her love of animals, Dr. Quel chose to work in the veterinary field, a slight departure and has been working in small animal practices for more than 10 years. She started as a technician and then went to Western University for her Veterinary Medicine degree. Although she loves all the fields involved, her special interests include dermatology, internal medicine, and reproduction.

Dr. Quel decided to join Center-Sinai after falling in love with both the staff and doctors. “I never met a group of people who were more welcoming and loving. It was nice to have found a place that loved animals as much as I do. And I like the fact that the doctors often work as a team on cases. Teamwork has always been important to me; I think it provides a higher quality of care.”
